A cup of joe for the furloughed

It’s true, the Spangdahlem Officer & Civilian Spouses Club did hold an appreciation event to recognize Department of Defense civilian employees who recently returned from furlough at Kuhl Beanz. Every civilian got a free cup of joe , any size, any kind. But they didn’t stop there…the OCSC also provided the first 40 civilians that showed up a $25 gift card to the commissary.

OCSC appreciation

Once our civilian Airmen received their beverage of choice, some stayed around to mingle with OCSC members, while others hurried back to work.

OCSC appreciation

This is one of the many community outreach projects OCSC members provide for the Spangdahlem community. Other projects include scholarships, morale and welfare donations, and the Holiday Bazaar on Oct. 25-27.

Thank you OCSC! The time and energy you all put into helping us civilians affected by the furlough was really a sweet and kind gesture. My hot cocoa and the $25 gift card was a blessing after the disappointment of being furloughed. Bless you all :)
